At Millbridge, we wanted the bedrooms to feel characterful, comforting and quietly playful — spaces that nod to the building’s heritage while still feeling fresh and contemporary. Inspired by Victorian architecture, Surrey craftsmanship and the surrounding landscape, the rooms layer rich textures, collected pieces and soft colour to create somewhere you won’t want to leave.
A few of our favourite ways to bring the look home:
Embrace Colour
Whether it’s a statement headboard, painted woodwork or a colour-drenched room, colour instantly brings warmth and personality. Darker tones create depth, softness and a cocooning feel that works beautifully in bedrooms.

Layer with Rugs
A good rug changes everything. We use them throughout Millbridge to bring warmth and texture. In bedrooms, think of your rug as a frame for the bed — the bigger the better.

Play with Prints
Cushions, throws and upholstered pieces are an easy way to introduce playful prints and softer layers. Have a little fun here and mix patterns, scales and textures.

Mix Old with New
Vintage finds alongside contemporary pieces create a layered, lived-in feel that instantly adds warmth and authenticity.

Add Artwork
Choose artwork that speaks to you and don’t be afraid to mix mediums — from oils to prints and textiles. The pieces don’t need to match to bring a room together.

Soft Lighting
Linen and woven shades diffuse light softly to create a warm, gentle glow. Opt for warm white bulbs to keep the room feeling cosy and inviting.
